February 6, 2022 @ The Coalition in Chapel Hill
Max 15 participants- girls or gender non binary kids welcome
Description: As a trauma therapist for the last 20 years, I have spent most of my 20 year professional career teaching women how to say "NO" and set boundaries. What if we started teaching our young ones? I can only imagine their trajectory in life! We are partnering with The Coalition in Chapel Hill with Krav Maga teacher Jaimie Lee. Jaimie is a Krav Maga Black Belt and has been an instructor since 2012 and has four U.S. certifications. She was also certified at the Wingate Institute in Israel, the birthplace of Krav Maga. She has a background in dance and certification in Pilates/Barre. Jaimie offers a restorative approach to training and loves running workshops for kids. I (Kim) will start by doing some body scans with the kids to help them learn the language of sensations in the body and how to notice our innate protective ques. We will create a safe group dynamic in which for us to explore how NO manifests in our bodies and how to notice it in others. Jaimie will teach some self defense techniques to help our little ones embody NO. We will practice feeling NO, saying NO and seeing NO in others. Parents of any gender are welcome to participate and join in! Snack, waters and NO gift provided.
Every wizard needs their own magic wand! We will spend some time building our wands, exploring our own and other peoples creations, having discussions with other children on what good they would use their wand for. We will work with children to access their imaginations, creativity, images, sensations and building resilience. The more creative we are, the more resilient we can be. Doesn't everyone need a magic wand?
Free interactive webinar to teach you the top 3 somatic holds parents can do with their children for self- and co-regulation. Who couldn't use some more regulation these days? Join us on Zoom and learn how to create this for yourself and your family.
