Somatic Coaching Sessions
12 sessions ($200/hour)
*Offered in 60 or 90 minute sessions
Somatic Experiencing® has been used for nearly 5 decades and is the life work of Dr. Peter Levine. SE™ has its foundations from the multidisciplinary intersection of physiology, psychology, ethology, biology, neuroscience, indigenous healing practices, and medical biophysics. The Somatic Experiencing® approach is a body oriented therapy that facilitates the completion of self-protective motor responses and the release of survival energy bound in the body. When we experience threatening situations or chronic stress, we develop disease and dissociation which can cause a variety of issues including symptoms that disrupt our mental health, physical health, relationships and careers.
The SE™ approach gently guides clients to develop increasing tolerance for difficult bodily sensations and suppressed emotions. Trauma may begin as acute stress from a perceived life-threat (ex. Car accidents, assaults, etc.) or as the end product of cumulative stress (ex. Chronic abusive relationship, global pandemic, etc.). All types of stress can seriously impair a person’s ability to function with resilience and ease. If we are stuck in the fight, flight, freeze responses, we often need help to get out of these fixated states. As a SE™ practitioner, we work to bring the body back into a state of flow where we can experience a decrease in symptoms and distress.

An SEP is someone who is trained in the SE™ approach and has completed a 3 year intensive certification program including supervision for cases and their own personal trauma healing work. Kim Jeffs, Founder & Somatic Practitioner at Soma & Soul, is a SEP as well as has a Master’s Degree in Somatic & Transpersonal Counseling with over 20 years experience. Kim has been a teaching assistant for the Trauma Healing Institute and is a seasoned SE™ practitioner. While some clients experience a shift just after 1 SE™ session, we find that a client can make great progress with a 12 session trauma healing package.
We offer all SE™ sessions via zoom. Please reach out for more information via our contact form or to schedule an initial appointment. We look forward to connecting with you!
